We live on 40 acres in a small farming community west of Madison, Wi. We have been working to establish a niche brand of Belted Galloway that we have termed "compact". The term is to recognize the fact that our herd is intended to maintain all of the outstanding features of mainstream Belted Galloway without the full size and related cost associated with maintaining them.
We have found Belted Galloway cattle to be extremly docile, which is excellent for the first time cattle owner, who may be intimidated by cattle in general just because of their size alone. That is just one reason why we feel that smaller is more acceptable to not only the FIRST TIME cattle owner, but those of us who do not have a lot of acerage to sustain a herd of larger cattle.
Smaller by no means makes them a novelty, unusable as beef cattle. Smaller means an average 800 pounds, less intimidating and more manageable for smaller acerage.
And NO, we are not wanting to turn them into MICRO MINI'S, but just because they are COMPACT and smaller, does not mean that they are not put together well, and we believe they are an asset to the breed whether they weigh 800 lbs. or 2,000 lbs.

After several years of searching we have finally found the perfect little red heifer to add to our herd! Now we can offer not just exceptional quality, conformation, and disposition, but COLOR!
